Ahhhhh, the power to heal thy self!
I'm just learning the importance of releasing the fascia tissue around my tendons that get a little too cozy and clingy to my muscles after a hard workout.
The scar tissue that can result if I leave my rebuilding muscle to fend for themselves can result in impaired growth and misalignments.
Blood flow gets restricted by these blockages which means proper oxygen to the muscle gets restricted which means the body encapsulates the problem and moves on to bigger problems- leaving me with a possible long term misalignment.
I'm effectively starting a flaw in my kinetic chain in the body that I ask to carry me around all day and then rock the dance floor at night. No good.
This can't happen. Mama needs to learn how to heal and rest properly.
While this also means ice baths, water and electrolyte replenishing, and enough sleep, rolling out on a foam roller or two yoga tune up / lacrosse balls HAS BEEN A GAME CHANGER for my tired body.
Like anything else that's worth something, it often hurts in the beginning as we face the tightness to actively release and get things rocking again.
